The leadership of the Niger State Wing of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has paid a solidarity and congratulatory visit to the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB) to celebrate the appointment of one of their own, Dr. Ibrahim A. Liman, as the Executive Chairman of the Board and his Management team.
The high-powered delegation was led by the State Chairman of the Union, Comrade Adamu Mohammed Akayago, who described Dr. Liman’s appointment as one of the most commendable decisions of the present administration. He noted that the new Chairman’s rich background as an educationist with vast experience across various disciplines makes him exceptionally suited to lead the Board.
Comrade Akayago assured the Chairman and his management team of the Union’s unwavering support and cooperation in delivering the tasks entrusted to them by the Governor. He expressed optimism that, under Dr. Liman’s leadership, the challenges confronting the basic education subsector will be significantly reduced.
In his response, the Executive Chairman, Dr. Ibrahim A. Liman, thanked the NUT leadership for the visit and their commitment to partnering with the Board. He emphasized that with the Union’s support, a major part of the Board’s reform agenda would be achieved.
Dr. Liman reaffirmed NSUBEB’s readiness to uplift the standard of basic education in the state, promising improved infrastructure, training and retraining of teachers, and the reconstruction of dilapidated school structures across Niger State.
He assured the Union that the Board remains fully committed to delivering meaningful and lasting reforms in line with the vision of the State Government.
