The Management Team of the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB), under the leadership of its Executive Chairman, Dr. Ibrahim A. Liman, on Tuesday received a courtesy visit from the Management of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, led by the Permanent Secretary, Hajiya Aishatu Nuhu Yarwa.
The visit, according to the Permanent Secretary, was to formally congratulate Dr. Liman and his management team on their appointment and to reaffirm the Ministry’s confidence in their capacity to reposition the basic education subsector. She noted that Dr. Liman’s track record speaks for itself, expressing optimism that basic education in Niger State is now in capable and competent hands.
Hajiya Yarwa further assured the Board of the Ministry’s unwavering support and cooperation, pledging to strengthen collaboration for improved service delivery.
In his welcome remarks, the Executive Chairman, Dr. Liman, appreciated the Permanent Secretary and her team for the visit, coming barely a day after the Board’s familiarization visit to the Ministry. He emphasized that under his leadership, NSUBEB remains committed to working harmoniously with the Ministry to achieve shared goals and to actualize the vision of His Excellency, the Farmer Governor, in transforming education in Niger State.
Dr. Liman reiterated the Board’s resolve to focus on the reconstruction of dilapidated school structures and continuous training of teachers to enhance teaching and learning in line with the New Niger Agenda.
Also speaking, the Director General of Schools and Education Reforms, Hajiya Maimuna Mohammed, highlighted key initiatives being championed to strengthen early childhood education. She called for deeper synergy with the Board to ensure the realization of set targets and improved outcomes for learners.
