In a show of solidarity and institutional support, the Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji, has charged the newly appointed management of the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB) to intensify efforts toward revitalizing the basic education subsector in the state.
The Speaker gave the charge when the Executive Chairman of NSUBEB, Dr. Ibrahim Alhaji Liman (Zanna Agaie), led the management team on a familiarization visit to the Speaker and members of the House Committee on Education. Rt. Hon. Sarkin Daji assured the team of the unwavering support of the Assembly as they work toward fulfilling their mandate.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the House Committee on Education, Hon. Mohammed Sani Idris, highlighted several pressing issues within the basic education sector that require urgent attention and prioritization. He further pledged the committee’s commitment to fostering a strong and productive working relationship that will advance educational development in the state.
Responding to the warm reception and assurances from the Assembly, the Executive Chairman, Dr. Ibrahim A. Liman, expressed deep appreciation for the House’s readiness to support the Board. He reaffirmed his commitment to delivering critical reforms aimed at improving the quality of basic education across the state.
In a related development, the Executive Chairman also held a series of engagements at the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, where he met with the Permanent Secretary, Hajiya Aishatu Nuhu Yarwa and her team to strengthen collaboration and enhance synergy between the Ministry and NSUBEB.
Dr. Liman later received a courtesy visit from the Old Boys Association of his alma mater, the College of Arts and Islamic Studies Old Students Association (CAISOSA).
The delegation which was led by the interim President of the association, Alhaji Umar Alfa Baro congratulated both the Executive Chairman and the Board Secretary who are active members of the old boys movement on their well-deserved appointments by the Farmer Governor, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Umaru Bago, and prayed for Allah’s guidance and wisdom upon the Governor and the appointees as they steer the affairs of the State and NSUBEB.
In his response, Dr. Liman thanked the association for the honour of the visit and assured them, on behalf of the Secretary, of their continued dedication to being worthy ambassadors of the institution.
