As part of the "New Niger Agenda" championed by Governor Umaru Bago, the Niger State Government is taking decisive steps to restore the state’s educational sector particularly at the basic level to its former glory.
A total of 325 schools across the 25 Local Government Areas are set to undergo significant renovations from now to December,2026.
The announcement was made by the Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Mallam Muhammad Baba Ibrahim, during a school validation tour in Tafa and Suleja LGAs. He was accompanied by the Board’s management team and technical officers, who assessed schools proposed for inclusion in the upcoming school upscaling initiative.
During separate meetings with members of the School-Based Management Committee (SBMC), traditional leaders, parents, teachers, and representatives of organized labor, Mallam Ibrahim reaffirmed the government's commitment to raising education standards across the state.
Similar visits will be carried out across the remaining LGA’s.
"This administration is fully prepared to transform basic education and provide a conducive learning environment for our children,” he stated.
